“Read to Feed” will be held Oct. 31 to Nov.30 and will be divided into four sessions. Participants are asked to read 60 minutes and to donate one non-perishable item during a session to receive rewards.
HPL will host special events throughout the month, asking for canned good donations.
The adult department will host a Scrabble Marathon Nov. 5 beginning at 1 p.m. and runs until players run out of words. Participants must arrive before 5 p.m. to get in on the action. A non-perishable item is requested for entrance into the marathon. The library will provide a snack in the afternoon (pizza or sandwich).
‘Pete the Cat’s Rocking Thanksgiving Visit,’ will be held Nov. 12 at 10:30 am and 11:30 am. Those attending are asked to bring a non-perishable item.
During the month-long event, the library will forgive overdue library fines in exchange for canned good donations; $1 will be credited for each item received.
